Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students in my classroom are an amazing group of young thinkers. As being a part of dual-language program, they are pushed and challenged on a daily basis. This group of students comes to class everyday ready to learn and determined to to learn the new concepts of the day. I could describe my students as smart and creative, but I'd rather spend my time describing how kind and supportive they are.

These students celebrate every accomplishment, whether that is in or out of the classroom.

They cheer and applaud each other without me cueing them to do so. They started this and have kept it going on their own. When a student is down or makes a mistake, they help each other get back up or understand their mistake in an empathetic manner.

My Project

Every child's dream is to build and create robots at least once in their lives. These materials will allow students to get a first hand-experience of what it is like to make a plan, build, and play with the robots.

These robots will teach everything from design thinking to engineering, collaboration, complexity, math, and more.

Even advanced ideas like abstract modeling, systems thinking, and emergence can be explored with these deceptively simple robot blocks. These robots will help build better thinkers. It will help my students' learning in a more innovative and creative way. They will use their own thinking and design to create robots, with their math, science and problem-solving skills to successfully achieve the challenges that will be given.
