Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Most of my students this year are brand new English Language Learners. I want them to feel confident learning to read in English. Many of them are far below reading level in Spanish and English. They have expressed interest in reading science books and graphic novels, as well as books to challenge them as readers.

I would love for my students to be able to read an array of books that create a sense of confidence as they learn and navigate a new language and culture.

My students will be reading these books independently in class and in their homes. These books will help build their reading stamina and readiness. Thank you so much for your generosity and for helping my kids reach their goals as readers!
