Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a classroom of adorable 4-year-olds eager and curious about the world around them. The children are involved in many activities throughout the day.

For example, the children engage with their peers in choice time center activities that involve many opportunities for hands-on learning, growing, and socializing.

I would like the opportunity to engage my students more, as they learn through play every day.

Please help me make this dream a reality by donating to my project. Thank you!

My Project

Block play is very important, especially in the early childhood classroom. Block play helps promote problem solving in children and also builds imagination. Blocks offer many ways for young dual language learners to explore and express themselves. Important concepts and skills are practiced and strengthened through block play, including length, measurement, comparison, number, estimation, symmetry, and balance. Block play also allows children to explore Science skills such as testing hypotheses and builds scientific reasoning. Block play can boost a child's self esteem. They can discover that they have ideas and that they can bring their ideas to life by creating, transforming, demolishing, and recreating something unique. Blocks help children learn to take turns and share materials, develop new friendships, become self-reliant, increase attention span, cooperate with others, and develop self-esteem.Finally, block play requires fine and gross motor skills. Blocks enhance children’s problem-solving abilities, mathematics skills, and language and literacy abilities. I am asking for donations so my students can have "Design and Build Engineering Centers," "Block Play People With Different Abilities, Block Play STEM activities, etc. Your donations will help bring life to this center and will give my students the opportunity to grow in all of the above mentioned ways.
