My Students

I have the ultimate pleasure of working with smart, enthusiastic and hardworking kindergarteners in a Title I NYC public school. Our school services a beautifully diverse group of children, who come to school ready to try new things in order to grow both personally and academically. I am so proud of our loving class, which is part of the ASD Nest program, an integrated approach to teaching both students on the autism spectrum and neurotypical learners.

As an ASD Nest Program school, we believe that our students learn best when the class adapts according to the needs of its the students.

I am looking forward to a school year filled with problem solving, learning and growth. I have no doubt that our group of young and insightful students will achieve wonderful things this year.

My Project

I am constantly trying to learn about and find new and exciting ways to engage my students. This idea comes from a fellow teacher, Samantha Henry.

It's a simple but effective strategy of using play to guide my students in order to master Kindergarten learning standards-- with legos!

I will create a binder for each child. In the binder they will have a lego base plate, a binder pouch filled with legos and a task for them to complete. This will help our class work on numbers, letters, STEM, free play, and independence!
