This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am excited to introduce a project designed to enhance number sense for my students in a fun and engaging way! My goal is to make math not only a subject they learn academically, but also a skill they can enjoy and apply in their daily lives in a hands-on manner.

In my classroom, I strive to create an interactive learning environment where students can develop strong mathematical foundations.

This year, I am focusing on building their number sense, particularly in the areas of addition and subtraction.

The math center will include a variety of engaging materials such as counting manipulatives to help students visualize addition and subtraction problems, math games, board games and card games that focus on addition, subtraction to foster cooperative learning and critical thinking, as well as number lines, ten frames, and charts to help students understand the concepts of addition and subtraction visually.
