My Students

I have an active and diverse group of first grade students. They love to sing, dance, learn and play. Each day in our classroom, we work on the important skills needed to be part of a community and to care for one another as we grow as first grade students.

First graders are enthusiastic learners and experience the world best through hands-on activities.

Each day they are learning the critical skills of working together, problem solving and compromise. These important skills will help my students each day, both at school and in their communities.

My Project

My students will use these building kits and activities to practice the critical skills of working together, leading and following, compromising and patience. Students will have opportunities to work with a variety of peers to solve problems together. Hands on projects, such as building and engineering allow students to move their bodies and use their own background knowledge to solve problems.

All students need to feel successful, and hands on building and planning can highlight the talents and increase the confidence of students who otherwise struggle with traditional academics.

Students who feel successful at school are ready to take on additional challenges and see themselves as capable learners.
