Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The use of LEGO materials, such as letters and city fire and police stations, provide students with the opportunity to learn in a different way and develop fine motor skills. Opportunities such as collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and creativity are offered through the use of LEGOs. As a child builds with LEGOs, they are using problem solving skills. They have to figure out which blocks work in their building, sometimes using the trial and error method. Planning and organizing are other benefits. LEGO building requires the child to have a plan before they build, even if it is only a basic one. They also must organize their thoughts as well as the LEGO pieces in order to bring their idea to life.
