This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school. My students face several challenges both in and out of the classroom. My students have all been identified with special needs such as autism, intellectual disabilities, developmentally delayed, language impairment, and deaf and hard of hearing. This upcoming school year will look very different. Our district is starting the school year via distance learning. I have created a project that will help my special education preschool students. I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences both in the classroom and at home.

My Project

This Alphabet Sounds Teaching tubs along with the ink being requested will benefit my SPED preschoolers in exploring letter sounds. The tubs will let my SPED preschoolers identify and sort a variety of manipulatives, play memory games, and build vocabulary skills. I have created this project so we can have manipulatives in the classroom to work on different skills since many were not able to practice these skills at home. With these manipulatives, they will be able to work on their cognitive, math, social, language, and physical development. Theses tools will provide them with a meaningful learning experience in the classroom.
