Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am a new Kindergarten teacher in a Title I school. My Kindergartners are eager to learn new things and enjoy hands-on activities. I feel that they do their best when they are motivated and interested in the task at hand.

The children impress me every day with their depth of knowledge on topics that interest them, and I enjoy listening to them share details of their work during reading and writing.

The children put forth their best work and I want to help them to continue to be successful learners.

My Project

The materials and supplies that I am requesting will be used to help struggling readers and also help students who are at grade level continue to make gains in their literacy skills. The students will be able to work on letter identification, sight words and sentence building.

In kindergarten we are already noticing the gap in reading levels and these items will help develop their literacy skills.

Most of the materials are tactile and add an element of fun to their learning. The materials can be used independently and also with teacher guidance. The Math tools will be helpful for students who are having difficulties identifying , writing and comparing numbers.
