This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Figuring out how to be an adult is hard; there's no handbook or much practice before the real world's expectations require us to be introspective, manage emotions, effectively communicate with others, and many other skills that aren't explicitly taught in the classroom. My scholars need access and practice with calm strips, fidgets and reading activities to support emotional development.

100% of our seniors apply to college and 98% are accepted to at least one 4-year university, so it would be amazing to support them not only getting to college, but being as prepared as possible for the challenges ahead in life.

I have an amazing group of highly-motivated seniors who have been excitedly working over the last 3 years exploring their post-graduation plans and, while they have the drive necessary to be successful, they need support with developing the skills necessary for success in future academic and professional settings.
