Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My classroom acts as a home to my students. It is a place to explore new ideas, learn about new topics, challenge their knowledge, and expand their understanding of all content areas. My classroom is a place for them to feel safe, included, and important.

Each day, we start with a smile and a hello so they know they are important.

These students come to school with many concerns that are out of their control. They need to be inspired in the classroom to learn, have fun, and understand that they are cared about and loved. Through many projects, I hope to inspire them to realize their potential and achieve their dreams.

My Project

This project will give students the opportunity to have book clubs while at home. During these uncertain times, students are struggling to have emotional connections with stories. They are missing out on opportunities to shop for books, browse their interests, and connect with topics and characters.

Students will be able to turn the page of their knowledge as they challenge themselves to read words, examine pictures, and infer events.

With these nonfiction texts, students will be able to connect with history through biographies, examine how things have changed, and even be amused by diverse animals. These real life topics would give my students exposure to new and exciting adventures!
