My Project

The Building Identity LEGO Project is an initiative led by Asian American teachers for 5th grade students in the Asian Affinity Student Group. This project will engage students in exploring and affirming their cultural identities through storytelling and history, using LEGO pieces to build scenes that reflect the history and traditions of Hmong and Karen people. Through this hands-on approach, students will deepen their connection to their roots while developing a sense of belonging and pride in their heritage.

Aligned with the mission of the Asian Affinity Student Group, this project aims to amplify underrepresented narratives and provide opportunities for collaboration across diverse groups.

By combining creativity with cultural education, students will build not only with LEGO bricks but also with empathy, leadership, and historical understanding. The project will encourage intergenerational dialogue to foster a foundation of joy, resilience, and empowerment.

To bring this project to life, we are asking for donations to sponsor the materials needed for the Building Identity LEGO Project. These funds will help us purchase LEGO sets and supplies for students to creatively express their cultural stories. Your generous contribution will support the growth of young leaders while fostering a deeper appreciation for diversity, history, and culture.

By supporting this project, you are helping to create a supportive community where students can honor their unique identities, celebrate shared experiences, and build leadership grounded in trust, respect, and cultural understanding.
