My Students

My students are beautiful, positive learners looking for a safe place to grow. I work with students one-on-one to help them grow socially and emotionally.

As the safe place in an unsettled world, my office is sometimes the only place my students can open up about their life.

Our school is a Title I school serving a population of students from low income families. Many of the students I work with have suffered some type of trauma in their short lives and our time together is critical to helping feel hope for a successful future.

My Project

Having a dedicated Chromebook for my office will allow me to develop new and engaging lessons for my students. During one-on-one sessions with my students, technology can be used to help with strategies for overcoming trauma, coping with anxiety and building hope. By utilizing different websites and programs, I can create opportunities for students to grow and plan for a successful future.

Using technology is an everyday occurrence for almost everyone today.

Partnering technology with conversations, I can begin building social emotional toolboxes with my students. This toolbox can be filled with coping mechanisms and strategies so when they are faced with trauma or it aftermath, they can remember how to hope and move forward successfully.
