My Students

My students are wonderful! They are children from mostly Caribbean immigrants. Although, that’s quickly changing as we see a more diverse population emerging here at our school, of wonderful additions to our school community from Asia and Africa. We, the staff, work hard towards student achievement. We have made small but noticeable growth in getting our students’ performance in reading and math on grade level. Our students are grounded in the ideas of “Tolerance, Respect and Integrity” as it’s part of the daily fabric practiced by all of us. They are worth the very best!

My Project

In our efforts to enhance and differentiate instruction, these tablets will help build reading, writing, math and technology skills for our students. Daily access to digital technology allows students to apply skills and strategies to build academic content and/or their love for reading and writing. These tablets will also give teachers the flexibility to do more differentiated, individualized instruction. The tablets will be used as part of K-2 classrooms, ten per grade to share . Students will utilize tablets to work independently to practice Phonics, Reading fluency, vocabulary and build reading comprehension skills and math. These tablets would be a great addition to the classroom.
