Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are eager to learn and explore. These materials will provide students an opportunity to look at objects closely as we learn to investigate big topics such as weather, seasons, and animals. We will use magnifying glasses to look closely at living and nonliving things. We will use legos to replicate what we see (by magnifying the replica). We will connect our findings to reading by using the mirrors to watch how our mouth forms initial letter sounds when talking about specific content words. And lastly the teacher will use a color printer and laminating machine to provide students access to real world images to support vocabulary acquisition.

My students are special because they are eager to learn English through play and thematic exploration.

They are exited to build connections such as hearing the word "leaf" begins with the /l/ sound. My goal for this project is to not only support students in building letter sound recognition and reading but to also engage them in fun and exploitative ways to learn about grade specific content.
