it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
I have the honor of working with some of the most amazing students. I have students that are always willing to pull through and pull together to work and help out others. Students that I work with come from very low economic and poverty homes, yet they come every day with a positive attitude and the hunger to learn. They always tell me how I inspire them to do better for themselves, but I always tell them that they always inspire me to do more because I see their efforts and how hard they work for me.
My students are a wonderful example of what it means to work hard for what you really want in this world.
They push themselves to help not only themselves here at school but also help their parents at home. Many of my students have a part time job even as young as 15 and 16 years of age and some maintain jobs while in school full time. They are not afraid of working in the fields over the winter and spring break or even the hot summer days so that they can help their parents.
My Project
Music helps keep students engaged and interested in their academics, so when I had a group of students that wanted to start a Mariachi Group obviously I was excited. Where to begin, I do not know music, but I love mariachi music. I had to reach out to friends and test my luck. I did not want to be the person to tell these kids, no, I am sorry, we can not help you with getting a mariachi group started.
The moment that I said, "let me see what I can do", their eyes widened with a BIG smile!
I was determined to help my kids and support their dream of building a mariachi group from ground zero. I am not a music major, but I am a determined person that does not give up easily.
