My Students

My fifth-grade students strive to be students of the world. Our school provides as many opportunities to have students reach outside our small community to reach their dreams as we can. They are a capable and motivated group who have big dreams of careers including math, science, dance, art, technology, sports, and more!

Participating in STEM education prepares my students to live in the ever-evolving 21st century where technology and science are at the forefront!

I have 30 students, comprised of English language learners, special education students, gifted-talented advanced learners, and more! They are a group of creative students who love to read and deserve a safe space to grow into the young adults they are destined to be.

My Project

Learning and teaching is hard in this season. Students are split between homes, daycares, and a variety of other learning environments to make distance learning happen. Not only that, but the outside stresses of family, health, finances, and well-being are more than anyone should have to bear, especially children.

This season of life is tough, but my students are amazingly strong, resilient, and determined to make sure nothing stands in the way of their education!

Making sure our classroom community is an inviting space will help make sure that students have an incentive to come to school and engage every day we get to be here. When they are putting in so much effort to maximize their learning, rewarding students with small prizes also increases engagement and ensures that they'll be coming back day after day, both digitally and in person. The students will use these stickers and prizes to decorate their learning space, making the stale COVID-friendly space more inviting, and also to see a visual reward of their hard work.
