Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our 7th grade Language Arts team has decided that pour art will allow our students to demonstrate their understanding of concepts related both to our standards and to the ideas of both identity and community. Pour art will allow students to reflect on their educational and personal experience. After the art experience, students will create an artist's statement to explain their choices and connect the art to our ELA standards.

Showing community and identity through art is a powerful classroom lesson that validates students' personal experiences.

The students' art will be displayed on campus, giving even more weight to the overall artful learning strategy.
