My Students

The students who take my engineering and robotics classes are a part of a large, urban school and come from many different cultural, ethnic, and economic backgrounds. However, these pieces of their identities do not define them.

The students who take my classes are curious, creative, and in general, they are thinkers.

They come in every day willing to learn and be challenged. They are future engineers and scientists, and I want to help start them off on the right foot.

My Project

For those of us who have been to an Escape Room, we know the fun of trying to solve puzzles in creative ways. In order to be successful with solving the Escape Room puzzle, your team needs to have grit, communicate, be creative, effectively collaborate, and think critically.

Breakout EDU boxes brings the collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking that is needed to solve an Escape Room puzzle into the virtual classroom with academic problems and puzzles to solve.

Especially as we get to know each other in a virtual setting, having the ability to get to know everyone in our class in an engaging, non-cookie cutter way is invaluable. What they learn from the Breakout EDU box about communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking will be used every day in our virtual classroom as we re-engage in learning and develop important skills for the virtual and actual worlds.
