This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our classroom is a vibrant tapestry of diverse learners, and we've launched this project to provide essential materials that will cater to their unique needs. We seek support for three crucial components that will significantly impact our ESL and EL learners.

By introducing 'The Lightning Thief Series' in Spanish, we aim to honor students' native language while providing access to our 6th-grade English anguage arts expedition.

This series aligns seamlessly with our curriculum and serves as a valuable resource for our ELL students by enabling them to access the unit of study with greater ease. By having these books available in their native language, we foster a bridge between their existing language skills and the English they are acquiring.

In addition, we are excited to create a welcoming environment for our new arrivals who are learning English for the first time. To support this, we are requesting a collection of bilingual books in Arabic/English. These resources will aid in language acquisition and provide a sense of cultural familiarity, making the transition to a new language and educational setting smoother for these students.

Lastly, we recognize the importance of building a solid foundation in vocabulary for language and literacy development in English. Therefore, we seek vocabulary books to enhance their grasp of English, empowering them with the tools to express themselves effectively and excel in their academic pursuits.
