My Students

The Pre-K and Kindergarten students that I teach are located in an Annex to our Main Building. We have a small space foe our Physical Education classes (it is part of the lunchroom). For the safety of the students, most of our activities are done through stations.

The Pre-K and Kindergarten students show a great deal of excitement when they enter the room and see the stations they will be using.

They are having fun while learning the required skills.

My Project

The Pre-K and Kindergarten students are learning about homes in their classrooms. I have incorporated the home unit into their gross motor stations. I will read the story of the Three Little Pigs and talk about the pigs built three different homes. The students will use large building blocks to create different structures in one of the stations.

The Pre-K and Kindergarten students will use these large blocks to create structures to crawl through or jump over.

These blocks will provide the students the opportunity to use their creativity while working on their gross motor skills. We have two sets of these blocks, but that is not enough for the students working in a station. The students love using these building blocks because of their large sizes. I also plan to use these blocks in future units.
