Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am currently a teacher in the Bronx, NY with students who have a variety of emotional and intellectual disabilities. I would love for my students to have access to tools that will help them to become more organized and successful mathematicians. They are a great bunch of kids with motivation unlike any I have ever seen. They wish to strive and achieve all of their goals set for this year.

My Project

My classroom currently does not have any new manipulatives and tools that will engage them long enough to grasp material that is already difficult for them. The Math manipulatives requested for this project will give students another entry point in grasping the foundation of multiplication and division facts, both visually and kinesthetically. The bean bag chair will allow students to use a different part of the room to complete independent tasks comfortably, if they desire to change locations while in the classroom. The laminator will help to preserve their work and help with organization within the classroom. Your help with these materials will be greatly appreciated and most welcomed.
