My Students

My school is a public school in Chicago where 99% of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch. This year, our primary classrooms are made up of 25 to 30 eager learners. We've recently created an intervention program that is going to be providing extra academic support to struggling learners using various resources.

Our students are considered high-needs and have many stresses compared to the average five to eight year-olds.

Because of this, I work very hard to make sure the students at our school receive the learning, resources and exposure they need to surpass what some statistics may say. I am proud of the hard work my students put in each day!

My Project

My students work hard every day and earn time to play and engage with each other. While most of their day is very structured, my students love to be able to relax and learn through play with each other. My students need materials for indoor recess and Fun Friday.

Fun Friday is something my students work for throughout the week.

At the end of the week, we relax together and celebrate all of our hard work and learning. Students love to participate in free-choice playtime. Magna-Tiles are a fun and engaging manipulative they can use for play and learning. These tiles can also be used during geometry in math!
