My Project

Our project aims to build an inclusive classroom that encompasses social emotional learning for all students. It is our goal to create a classroom space that offers multiple opportunities for students to begin learning how to process small and big emotions. Our students are from diverse backgrounds from in and around the Harlem community. This project will build on our students knowledge of being able to name emotions but most importantly how to process those emotions in the classroom. Therefore, giving students access to calming tools such as, sensory strips enables them to foster positive choices in regulating their emotions. We hope that this project will continue to grow in its effort to reach each student who enters Mrs. Britton’s classroom.
