My Students

I work in a Special Education District in Staten Island, New York. My school is strictly for special needs students with various disabilities. Many of our students come for low poverty households. I have worked with 1st through 5th grade students for the past 7 years and I love watching them learn new things.

Students leave my classroom with a love for learning!

My students are always so eager to learn and ask questions to figure things out. It is so thrilling to see students as they work both independently and collaboratively. Our students love to experience school and what it has to offer especially if they do not have much at home.

My Project

In order to prepare my students for success, organization is a key. I believe that a classroom which is organized is essential for students to better accomplish tasks independently. This is why I am requesting bins for organization. I want my students to have supplies, and for them to easily be able to find what they need to better assist them with their work. I am also requesting Crayola products, pocket charts, dry erase boards and other items that will help my students identify and access information throughout my new classroom. Although in the first year, this will only reach 12 students, these supplies will be used for years to come and will help so many students in the future!
