Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The 600 students on my campus participate in a multi-cultural, dual-immersion learning environment. We are steadily creating a student run, self-sustaining garden space. We are creating a pollinator friendly habitat and take significant student input when deciding what to plant. Our garden education is cross-curricular, and many educators are involved.

After our first successful harvest, we are in our second planting and are looking to develop comfortable outdoor spaces for community circles, student performances, and outdoor education.

We are asking for supplies to help further our pollinator friendly habitat, expand our garden beds (to allow for more teachers to have classroom beds), and to meet the specific planting requests from students (hello, strawberries!).
