My Project

In a world with increasing automation and artificial intelligence students need to be creative, thoughtful problem solvers. The "Building Thinking Classrooms" (BTC) philosophy offers an answer to that. The basic premise of BTC is to have students collaborating on "thinking tasks" at vertical white boards to increase engagement and critical thinking.

The large white boards would be set up in an open area of my classroom for student collaboration space.

The markers and erasers would allow the students to use the white boards. The magnet clips are to hang some thinking tasks on the board. The dry erase sleeves would give me an opportunity to put up coordinate grids or other materials for the students to write over. The hanging files are to organize some of the tasks.

All of these materials would mean that students are up, out of their seats, thinking about math and collaborating.
