This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Within the past twelve months, DonorsChoose donors have been so generous to me and my students.

We began in September down the path toward "Building a Thinking Classroom," which is a classroom format I've come to believe very strongly in since that time; in this setting, students are standing every day, showing their work on vertical non-permanent surfaces, focused on thinking tasks.

My students have fallen in love with this format, as have I. On a daily basis, I hear my students discussing mathematics with their peers and fearlessly making mistakes, learning from one another, and moving forward.

We were gifted so many markers through your generous donations, but the reality is that those nearly 200 markers have mostly dried up since September (because so much math is happening). Now we need more.
