Building A Supportive and Safe Counseling Classroom!
Help me give my students a calm and safe place to express their emotions and be themselves in my counseling classroom. I hope to empower each student who comes through my door!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
As some of you may know, I am getting ready to step into one of the most remarkable careers I could ever dream of, which is School Counseling!! I am super excited to help set up our youth's social and emotional well-being! As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I'm reaching out to ask for your support in creating a warm and inviting counseling space for our students. Promoting mental health awareness and social-emotional learning is a top priority, and having a comfortable classroom environment can make a significant difference in students' willingness to open up and engage in these crucial discussions.
I aim to furnish the counseling classroom with cozy seating options, calming decor, and resources that foster a sense of safety and belonging.
However, as an educator and a single Mom, funding for such initiatives is often limited. That's why I'm humbly requesting donations, whether donations or in the form of gently used furniture, rugs, lamps, or other suitable items.
Your generosity will directly contribute to our student's well-being and ability to develop essential life skills. As a current crisis counselor for 988 Nebraska, I can see some of the effects of not having a save space and impact it has a person's mental health. This is my chance to create the change I want to see in my community and our youth!
