My Students

The students in my inner-city classroom in Brooklyn are very enthusiastic, inquisitive, and great peacebuilders. They are eager learners, who deserve the best education our school can offer.

As a kindergarten teacher, I see the need for my students to become avid readers.

Therefore, having a variety of leveled books in our classroom library is so important to my students and is truly valued.

My Project

The listed items will make a difference in our classroom because at present we do not have a whiteboard. A whiteboard is vital for visual learners in my classroom. The laminating sheets and ink packs will help me create centers activities and student handouts to extend classwork. Additionally, items for our classroom centers are important to enhance fine motor skills and required reading skills. Many of our centers' materials are old, outdated, and have parts missing from years of over-usage. Having new equipment will help our students learn through play and hands-on experience.
