Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I am quickly learning that my students are inquisitive, have a thirst for learning, and most importantly are very compassionate to each other's needs. My school is located in Corona, Queens, which is comprised of more than 90% low-income families. This community was hit hard by the COVID pandemic. It was basically the hub of the outbreak.

Due to language barriers, being new to the country, having special needs and of course 'covid restrictions', my students have not been able to get their hands on exciting manipulatives and to participate in close group activities.

Please, if you can spare a small donation and help spread the word, you will have a profound impact on my classroom.

My Project

If my students were able to be hands-on in the classroom they would have a greater love for science. Being able to watch caterpillars change into butterflies, using magnets to attract and repel and growing plants in the classroom would open the eyes of my class, to a whole new scientific world.

Gears, legos, and new STEM workstations would inspire divergent learning in the classroom.

As teachers we want our students to think strategically, critically, and creatively. If we had access to tried and proven STEM lessons and charts, from Teachers Pay Teachers, we would gain a good footing in the first year of our STEM classroom.
