My Project

To start of the school year, my students create a goal for themselves to build a reading life to help them be successful by the end of the school year. They explore different types of genres to discover what may be their interest to gain their love and confidence in reading. They may think that reading only exist in books that are found in the classroom library. However, they have yet to realize that texts can exist in other formats (For example, digital or magazine). Once they discover different types of texts, they can explore other information that they may not find in their picture or chapter books.
