This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students range from self motivated to needing a little push. Since I teach two different grades, I know that I have a wide range of learning abilities. I have students in their second year of high school who are, most of the time, highly motivated, and I have seniors in high school who sometimes have the attitude of, "is this over yet." Both have their greatness and some setbacks.

I want each of my students to leave my class knowing that someone cared about them academically and personally.

I want everyone of them to go on to great things in our world and leave it a better place. This is actually a personal goal of mine.

My Project

I am asking for a variety for books including The Outsiders, Carrie and Thinner. These books will promote a love for reading in a world where gaming is at the front of students' minds. My classroom library will be a place where students can retreat into a different world and immerse themselves in the adventures of another. I want them to spread out and get comfortable when it's time to read. My goal is to create avid and lifelong readers.

These books have been chosen with my students interests in mind, while some are classics others are just for fun to remind students that reading should be fun.

The requested seating, cushions and tables are meant to promote flex seating, as well as make it slightly easier to get up in front of the class and present projects.
