My Students

Ps. 938 is a brand new school located in Central Brooklyn. We are embarking on our founding the first-grade year. We are a Title 1 school and the students we provide for are from families that are predominantly Spanish speaking. Our students are going to need resources to excel. Specifically resources that they can see themselves in and feel connected to. We need books that reflect their identities, culture, and diversity.

My Project

Reading is an important foundational skill that is needed for pretty much everything that students will be asked to do, both in school and throughout their entire lives. With this in mind, it is super important that we get them started with a wide variety of books that will engage them and keep them interested. We want students to know that there are literally books about any and everything that they can imagine. But we need your help to generate our library. We are a brand new school and this is the founding first-grade year so books are needed to support this endeavor.
