Building a Foundation in STEM!

My students need materials such as a Sphero Ollie robot, LEGO bricks, and wooden blocks to help them build creativity with engineering.

My Students

Hands-on activities dominate our STEM classroom this year. All students in grades 3-5 are excited to experience STEM activities as a special area class in our school. Students are able to study the areas of engineering, robotics, computer science, and biomedical science as a part of our program. The classroom is noisy and full of activity.

Our students are preparing for careers that may not be in existence yet.

Their world has been opened this year with our STEM program and its unique course offerings.

My Project

Our school is offering STEM as a class to our third, fourth, and fifth grade students this year. While we have a defined curriculum, there are other times in which students have opportunities to have the chance for "free building" and discovery. This has proven to be a challenge, because the materials that are available for the students to use are limited.

Excitement for STEM class is running rampant among students.

Students need building materials such as LEGO kits, blocks, and magnetic blocks to help them explore their creativity in engineering. They need a robot such as a Sphero Ollie robot to help give them other opportunities to learn about coding and robotics besides what we are completing in class. They need activities such as Gravity Maze and Roller Coaster Challenge to help them with design and logical thinking.
