My Students

Murry Bergtraum students are energetic, opinionated, curious, learners and leaders. They advocate for their needs and thrive off building relationships with folks who care about them. Once they connect or feel engaged they yearn for more. often times our students get a bad wrap and feel they have to consistently fight against the stereotypes that are placed on them. My students are the reason I love my work so much. I cant wait to see how they will contribute to the world we live in.

My Project

Murry Bergtraum's Library has been under construction for the last 4 years. Students have not been able to access Books that they enjoy reading. Last year I began creating a library in my office. Students were able to borrow books for a two week period and return them. I had my friends donate books, my school helped support the project ( book choices were limited based on the cite we could order from ) and we got the program started. Many doubted that the students would use the Community Library but I made sure to fill it with books that told stories that they could relate too, young adult fiction, fantasy and graphic novels. Every day students borrow books but they are hungry for more. These books are requested specifically by the students. Each book will take a student on another fantastic journey.
