Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a special education teacher, I find it deeply rewarding to support my students, especially when they face challenges in regulating their emotions due to difficulties, overwhelming noise, or overstimulation. To assist them in managing these emotions, I believe establishing a calming corner within our classroom would be highly beneficial. This dedicated space would serve as a safe haven, allowing students to relax and regain focus before rejoining the learning activities. Equipping this area with appropriate materials (fidget tubes & toys, timer, sensory toys, stress balls and books) will empower my students to self-regulate and continue their educational journey with confidence.
