Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love how curious, resilient, and eager my students are to explore new ideas and stories. At our school, we are dedicated to providing a quality education to every student, regardless of their economic circumstances. Serving a community where 100% of the students receive free lunch, we understand the financial challenges many families face. Yet, despite these obstacles, my students show up every day eager to learn, grow, and succeed.

The book sets I’m requesting will open up new worlds for them, from the dystopian adventures of The Maze Runner to the timeless classics like *The Hobbit.

Each series will allow students to explore themes of courage, empathy, and perseverance, while also building their reading comprehension and critical thinking skills.

Beyond entertainment, I’ve included life skills books to help students develop essential tools for success, such as boosting self-esteem and managing stress. My goal for this project is to foster a love of reading, increase literacy, and provide my students with resources that will help them grow both academically and personally.

What makes my students special is their ability to connect with stories and characters, even when the odds are against them. These books will be more than just reading material—they’ll be a gateway to new opportunities and personal growth.
