My Project

I teach a diverse group of 8th grade students who are enthusiastic about learning and exploring new stories. Each day, I watch as they discover different worlds through literature, whether it’s in our curriculum or during independent reading time. What makes my students truly special is their passion for reading and their ability to connect deeply with the books we explore in class. They’re always eager to share their thoughts and perspectives during our literature circles, where they have the chance to engage with others about the books they’re reading.

The bookshelf I’m requesting will serve as a central hub for both curriculum materials and choice books for literature circles and independent reading.

Having an organized space to store our books will help students easily access the resources they need, while also fostering a sense of ownership and excitement around reading. This bookshelf will allow students to freely explore different genres and topics, and make it easier to keep track of our growing collection of books.

My goal for this project is to create an inviting environment that encourages students to read more, collaborate with their peers, and deepen their understanding of literature. By having a designated, organized space for our books, students will be able to focus more on reading and discussion, rather than searching for books or worrying about clutter. With this bookshelf, I hope to inspire my students to become lifelong readers, thinkers, and communicators who appreciate the value of stories in all their forms.

Thank you for helping me create a classroom space where every student can thrive as a reader!
