Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a 4th grade ELL teacher in Elmhurst. We are a title one school and 98% of my students qualify for free lunch. My room is a mini-United Nations. We have many immigrant familes from all over the world. My school is one of the most overcrowded schools in the entire city. With a class of over thirty children I have at least two dozen different languages spoken. Each of my children reads at a different level. I have been teaching over ten years and have been adding to my library each year but there are never enough books. I need books that will be appropriate to all their reading levels. I have wonderful students who want to learn and supportive parents. What I am lacking are resources to help them achieve success in school. I am asking for books that are at various reading levels so that every child in my class can find a "just right" book.
