This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The books I’m requesting will make a significant difference in my students’ learning by providing them with engaging, grade-appropriate reading material that matches their diverse language abilities. Many of my students are English language learners, and having access to bilingual and leveled books will support their language development and comprehension skills. By offering a range of texts, from beginner to advanced levels, I can ensure each child is challenged and motivated to read, no matter where they are in their language journey.

My goals for this project are to create a vibrant classroom library that encourages a love of reading, promotes language acquisition, and boosts literacy for all students.

I want my students to feel excited about reading, find books that reflect their interests, and ultimately improve their confidence in both English and Spanish.

What makes my students special is their resilience and determination. They come from diverse backgrounds, and many are navigating the challenges of learning a new language while excelling academically. Their enthusiasm for learning, even with limited resources, inspires me every day. Having a well-stocked library will help me nurture their love of learning and ensure they have the tools to succeed.
