Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

At our school we have a wonderful variety of learning styles, nationalities , and personalities. The one thing they all have in common is that they love learning and exploring.

The classroom environment is very important.

A variety of materials are needed for the children to be able to carry out their visions. The block area is always a buzz with activity and providing materials and support is the way to inspire our children to problem solve, role play, communicate, and develop the all important social emotional skills they will need as adults.

My Project

Our block and building area is our most popular area. The children play out great scenarios with the things they build. They also test out different spatial concepts with blocks. We also have amazing plays in the puppet theater where children explore emotions and learn how to cooperate. The small dolls are also a needed component. The children act out scenarios through them and have conversations which builds their developing language skills.The smaller toter tower, power clicks frame set, geo sticks and robot blocks allow to create more intricate structures. A barn will present new and different ways people live in our country and help them expand their knowledge.

A new and amazing structure also can incorporate other areas of the classroom, inspiring children to write a name for the airport, or building they have built.

We also incorporate computer in block area the small mouse helps children manupulate the curser so they can draw and design their structures and try to replicate them. Block area is much more than just rolling cars around and building towers. It is inspiring creativity, developing language, and fostering cooperation amoung our students.
