About My Students

My 6th grade students are eager to learn and have fun while learning. They are creative, smart, and very intuitive. Our team of 6th graders are ready to explore everything. They want to see it, feel it, and create it. "It", meaning anything and everything. This group of kids are hands on learners.

Our students love to experiment and try new things. Sara and Jack have the idea to start a club that allows students to design, create, and build their ideas using the smallest of materials. Math and Science is more fun when you can actually be hands on with it.

In the Build To Bead club, students will learn how to create, design, and build small to big items such as bracelets, keychains and robots. Our students will learn that everything we see had to be planned, designed and built before use.

This club will use Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) to show students how fun it is to develop and design any and everything. Teamwork will be vital in this club because everyone's ideas will have the opportunity to shine. Friendships will be made. You never know, future business partners could be established in our Build To Bead club.

In Their Own Words

I want our Build To Bead Club to show students in my school that STEM careers are fun and that girls and boys can both enjoy building with any materials. I hope that everyone in this club will have fun learning a new way of exploring the arts and working as a team or as I see it, a beading family.

In this club my goal is to make sure that everyone's ideas and designs come to life. Leaders will shine in different aspects of building. Some will standout in the designing process while others will shine brightly in the building phases. The goal is to pull everyone's strengths into each project. This takes place by listening and allowing each other to contribute.

This project is important to me because it brings together kids in my school with similar interest. It is also another way of learning outside of the everyday academic setting. There are no grades given in this club. This project is important because it is another way to have fun while learning.
