My students need access to class pets that they would not otherwise come into contact with or learn about. They need hissing roaches and dwarf frogs, 10 Incandescent Black Light Night Bulbs, food supplies and more.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Most children in my school don't have pets especially exotic and different ones. Most have not had an opportunity to learn how to take proper care of a pet and to learn about that pet and love an animal.
My school is an economically-challenged, Title I, public school in a rural section of eastern North Carolina.
My class is a second grade class of 24 students. My class of students will get daily contact and interaction with the class pets, but the entire school will benefit. I currently have a corn snake, an aquatic turtle, crayfish, and fish in my classroom that I have personally bought. We need supplies to help take care of our pets that we have and to add a couple more to our loving family. I open my classroom up to all the teachers and students in my school for many activities throughout the year. The students love to visit my room for a lesson!
My Project
Having pets/animals in the classroom will provide my students and all the students that come into contact with my animals important lifelong lessons. They will have opportunities, firsthand, to interact with and learn about these animals and others. I want to open up their eyes and hearts to the love of the animals, their needs, and the animals world. I am requesting supplies to help take care of the needs of the animals that I already have and also to provide my class with two more unique pets. The supplies that I am requesting include bedding materials, lights, light bulbs, housing materials, along with various foods for the animals. I would also like to open up my children's world to that of the aquatic frog and the hissing cockroach. My students learn to love, respect, and take care of our pets.
Animals/pets teach us a lot.
Habitats, life cycles, needs, caring for an animal, species, environments..... But the most important lesson that we learn when having a pet is to love and care for everything in the world around us! There is no room for being mean to any animals and no need to be scared once you learn about them.
