My Students

Our School Library provides for 826 very diverse High School Students. The majority of our student body comes from low income households. Our population is made up of many different ethnicities and learning backgrounds. Although many may lack financially, they have an amazing desire to persevere and grow beyond their hardships.

Our students are very creative and energetic.

They are also extremely supportive and encouraging of each other in their plight to succeed. Ultimately they all have one thing in common - they love coming to the library. Upon arrival you may not see your typical library. We love to encourage reading but also want to expand the availability of unique ways to allow them to get in touch with their creative side.

My Project

Buffs Crafty Connection Center is a part of the Library that students and teachers can come to and get crafty! We encourage creative thinking, designing, and fun.

Students will be able to recreate books through their own eyes and display their projects for everyone to see.

Teachers will be able to come in to the center and produce fun encouraging, supportive, learning materials for their classrooms.

The Cricut Maker will be an amazing and critical asset to our Center. With this, the students and teachers will take their creations to a whole new level.
