My Project

My students are simply the best! These amazing scholars are resilient and hardworking and they truly inspire me to be the best teacher I can be. The interruption of the teaching and learning process due to the pandemic is undeniable, yet these scholars continue to embrace every opportunity to engage in learning in order to bridge the unfinished learning and unfinished teaching gaps caused by COVID-19.

Setting up a financial literacy center in my classroom will give my students a true hands-on / minds-on experience to explore, discover and learn about real-life financial matters.

Living in a community that is economically challenged has denied them the ability to enjoy experiences that expose them to really knowing and understanding what it truly means to be educated consumers. I envision creating a space by using materials that will encourage Interactive learning, critical thinking and collaboration that will lead to deepening my students’ understanding about money and fiscal responsibility.

These materials provided by generous DonorsChoose donors will enhance our learning environment and help the scholars understand that through responsible money handling they can grow up to be adults who can help stabilize or even help reverse the economic instability in our community. They may get a glimmer of hope of becoming game-changers in that they too can realize their dreams for becoming entrepreneurs and/or engage in careers that will help develop financial security in our local communities and be positive contributor to our global economy.

Thank you in advance for partnering with me in creating a FINANCIAL LITERACY BUDDY CNTER in my classroom.
