This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have 24 amazing students. Many of my students are refugees from all around the world. 90 percent of my students live in poverty. We are a diverse group, who love learning, our community school, reading books, learning American history, reading novels and making connections.
We are an active group of learners who have a growth mindset and love learning.
We use Class Dojo and track our points for prizes and activities.
Our favorite thing is to play soccer and incorporate it into our learning. Thank you so much for considering our classroom.
My Project
Our favorite thing to do is read a book and talk about it with our classmates. We want to create a comfy space in our classroom, where we can buddy read: sit together and enjoy a great book. Students love buddy reading and being in book clubs. I want this classroom storage bench to be that designated spot for that learning. Students can store their book club books underneath the bench. Sit on top of the bench and read with their partner. This bench will benefit this class and many classes to come. Thank you for your consideration of my classroom!
