This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our four-year-old preschool classroom is a child's first real-life experience within a school setting. Families are eligible through their income or other risk factors, such as having a single parent or the parent was a teenager when the child was born.
Our students are always eager to learn, soaking up learning like little sponges.
We offer them experiences with many hands-on activities such as play dough, painting, drawing, writing, riding bikes, music, and movement. This year because of Covid, we are learning virtually but we still need to use manipulatives for hands-on learning. Fine motor skills are so important at this age!
My Project
Every year when a new class enters our room, we need materials to keep our four-year-olds busy and learning. These art supplies will help improve their fine motor skills to help them begin to write this year and the years beyond.
Our Art area is the most popular area of the classroom where children learn to draw, paint, create and appreciate many forms of expression in preschool.
It is truly about the process, not the product, in our classroom. Many children haven't had the chance to express themselves with art materials or make a mess with paint or glue. That is where YOUR donation comes into play!!
