My Students

My students need life essentials such as warm clothing because our city is typically between 80 - 90 degree weather. However, we do get a nice chill that comes in and most parents are not prepared. A brand new jacket in the middle of the year would feel like an early Christmas present to them!

My students live in an impoverished neighborhood in the heart of South Florida.

They are mostly of Haitian descent and their parents are first generation immigrants. Our school is striving to make sure that they have the same comforts and life essentials that others have. Our students are eager to learn and very appreciative of all that is given to them.

My Project

The students will learn that the community is supporting them, and also that they can have high quality clothing that will keep them warm in the cold seasons. Many of them walk to school, and during the rain and cold breezes, they will be kept warm. My students need jackets for the coming Winter season in Miami because our students are used to warm weather.

My project will make a difference because our goals is to increase our daily attendance.

When the students are healthy and feeling great, they learn better and attend school more often.
