Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students attend a Title I school in a low economic area. Our classroom is filled with varying abilities and learning styles. 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. For some, those are the only meals they can rely on. Most families are blended families and some students only have one parent.

Despite the many challenges that they face, my students are always ready to learn and eager to try new things.

I strive to provide them with rich experiences because they are resilient learners that love school.

My Project

My students are becoming amazing writers as they shift from primary to intermediate writing skills, and need a variety of revision and editing strategies.

My students need color pens to bring their attention to the specific revision and editing strategies from our Writing Workshop.

The vibrant colors encourage students to notice their capital letters and punctuation marks.

After all of the work my students do on their writing, they want to polish their writing and publish it for the world to see. Revising and editing are essential in the writing process. By bringing vibrant color to the process, my students can excel in writing.
